Origins of Rapp Road, Albany

On Thursday 27 February 2020 the Historic Albany Foundation will present a program on the Origins of Rapp Road at the Wilborn Temple First Church. The rich history of Albany's African-American community will be presented.

In the 1930s thousands of southern African-Americans made the trip northward which became The Great Migration. Some resided in Albany's South End neighborhood until a group of families purchased acreage in the Pine Bush district of Albany. This is their story!
