Greenbush Historical Society Presents: Kelly Grimaldi, Author

On Sunday, 14 October 2018, 2 pm, at the East Greenbush Community Library the Greenbush Historical Society will host a presentation by Kelly Grimaldi, St. Agnes Cemetery, Historian.

Kelly will present "Walk Through History." Her program will feature and highlight early cemeteries including St. Agnes and Albany Rural Cemeteries.

Greenbush Historical Society November Meeting

Recent surveys say that 8 out of 10 Americans shop online. Long before Amazon and other online outlets started selling almost everything by computer, "catalog shopping" was a popular way to find needed items - even a house! The "Sears Modern Home" catalog sold more than 70,000 homes between 1908 and 1940. Their catalog featured 44 house styles ranging in price from $360 to $2900. Many of these homes are still right here in this area. Join the Greenbush Historical Society on Sunday, November 12, 2PM, at the East Greenbush Library for an informative discussion on these "moder, prefab homes." Our Board President, Mary Ellen Sullivan, will lead the presentation on the history behind these sturdy, do-it-yourself kits. Maybe, you will even discover that you live in one. Historical Talk at the East Greenbush Community Library

On Sunday, September 14th at 2:00 PM, P. Thomas Carroll, Executive Director of the Hudson Mohawk Industrial Gateway will give a historical talk presented by the Greenbush Historical Society on A 19th Century Silicon Valley- the Hudson Mohawk Region.

An announcement reads, "join Carroll for a fascinating program on the Hudson Mohawk region.  As the place where two majestic rivers meet, this area has been blessed by nature and enhanced by engineering genius with generous water resources.  The water-powered mills enabled the region to grow into a major manufacturing and industrial center."

Programs at the East Greenbush Library are free; however registration is required.
